Chaetodon austriacus : Exquisite Butterflyfish. Red Sea. A close relative, C.melapterus may be found in the southern Red Sea - it differs in having a black dorsal fin.
Chaetodon fasciatus: Striped Butterflyfish. Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.
Chaetodon mesoleucos: Paleface Butterflyfish. Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.
Chaetodon paucifasciatus: Crown Butterflyfish. Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.
Chaetodon semilarvatus: Masked Butterflyfish. Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.
Chaetodon larvatus: Orangeface Butterflyfish. Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.
Heniochus intermedius: Bannerfish. Red Sea.

CARDINALFISHES
Apogon annularis: Ringtail Cardinalfish. Red Sea.
Apogon pselion: Cardinalfish. Reported only from Gulf of Aqaba. This photo was taken recently in the central Red Sea, near Jeddah.
Apogon zebrinus: Zebra Cardinalfish. Red Sea.
Rhabdamia nigrimentum: Blackchin Cardinalfish. Red Sea. (note - we believe this species name should be 'nigrimenta')
